101 in 1001

I’ve seen a lot of these “101 in 1001” lists all over Blog Land, so I’m starting my own.

Day Zero came up with this great plan for how to get people to set goals and obtain them.

The Challenge:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on your part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple challenges such as New Year’s resolutions or a ‘Bucket List’. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips, study semesters, or outdoor activities.

So here’s my list starting February 6, 2010 and ending November 3, 2012

if you want a free option to #36 download Gimp. I have learned a few things and while i’ve never personally had photoshop to really use it, Gimp was easier for me to use from the beginning.

What a great list! “7. Run in a sports bra and no t-shirt in public” scares the crap out of me! No matter how much weight I lose, I can’t seem to lose the belly. 😦

[…] This is so true and I love it! Over the years I have seen many of my favorite bloggers do a 101 in 1001 page on their blog. You sit out and figure out 101 things you really want to accomplish and you have 1001 days to do it in. From what I can tell it started with Day Zero Project. Here are some of my current favorite 101 list: Kelly from Brownies and Zucchini, Heather from Then Heather Said, Sarah from Sarahlearns, and Andrea from Run,Eat,Date, Sleep. […]
